Microsoft Ignite 2025 is here and of course, AI and Agents are a consistent theme across all products. But, here are is the Microsoft Intune news, and I wanted to share what stood out because these changes will make a real difference for our customers.
Microsoft Ignite 2025 has brought some major updates for endpoint management, and I’m excited to share what this means for our customers.
Security Copilot
The biggest announcement? Security Copilot will soon be available to all Microsoft 365 E5 organisations. This is a huge step forward, making advanced AI-driven security accessible to many more businesses.
Intune is stepping into the AI era with integrated Security Copilot agents. These aren’t just buzzwords, they genuinely simplify complex tasks. For example, you can now turn organisational requirements into policies using natural language, review changes before rollout with the Change Review Agent, and even streamline device offboarding.
I’ve been using Security Copilot recently and honestly, I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s intuitive and I can see how it will uncover great value for customers by reducing manual effort and improving security posture.
Copilot in Intune is now generally available, which means admins can query data, create groups, and configure Autopilot without diving into scripts. This is a big win for efficiency. I have been using this since April this year as I was in the private preview and I really enjoyed using it.
Windows recovery
Another feature I’m excited about is remote Windows recovery at scale - being able to recover devices that won’t boot, even when the user isn’t available, is a game-changer for minimising downtime. I saw a demo of this when I was in Redmond back in March, the experience is very similar to when you get a new iPhone and you want to restore to your new device.
Policy configuration
Policy configuration is also getting smarter. The new agent interprets your requirements and maps them to recommended settings, cutting down the time it takes to get compliance right. Add to that enhanced admin controls like maintenance windows, pause and resume options for updates, and a centralised task list for vulnerability remediation, and you’ve got a platform that’s more proactive and less reactive. So those who are looking to build CIS or NCSC baselines, you may find your life easier.
For our customers, these updates mean faster deployments, stronger security, and less operational overhead. They’re designed to make endpoint management simpler and more resilient in hybrid environments.
